**Systems / Application Engineer**

The Application Engineer is responsible for the System Architecture, developing applications for HMI and PLC based control systems. Project specific as well as support for standardization processes. Leading the development of FDS. Monitoring and supervising sub suppliers, performing test, FAT, commissioning and start up. Ensure compliances to applicable codes & standards and adherence to QMS. High focus on On time delivery, first time right and customer satisfaction. In depth understanding of the UK standards is must. Well versed with all functions required for delivering projects and solutions, well acquainted with design & engineering.

**Key responsibilities**

+ Develop HMI and control applications, performing internal and external test, FAT, Commissioning & Start Up, SAT. High focus on system architecture and project specific networks. HON or Siemens PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, with respective programming tools

+ Support PM and LE influencing the conceptual design for the basic engineering (P&ID, system Architecture, Layout, FDS, …). Design verification. Support design of electrical cabinets, systems and electrical equipment

+ Support engineering documents, i.e. P&ID, wiring diagrams, commissioning manual, production procedures. Prepare and/or review RFQ packages. Perform technical bid evaluation. Work closely with sourcing. Technical interface to sub suppliers. Sub suppliers: Monitor and ensure technical compliance, quality, on time delivery

+ Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team fully utilizing standard builds & standardized work. Trouble shooting. Training for customers & staff. Support/execute Commissioning & start up

+ Safety: Adherence to safe work practice and company policies. Quality: Adherence to QMS, Collaborate with Quality & Project manager on engineering deliverables. Standardization: Support standardization of products and solution. Support during bid preparation

**Key skills and qualifications**

+ BS or BA degree. Min 2 year’s experience in similar role in process control industry

+ Knowledge and experience with state of the arts automation systems. Siemens SPS, HMI, SCADA, DCS. TCP/IP, FieldBus communication, Profinet/Profibus/Modbus. Required programing tools loke TIA Portal, Step7, WINCC Flexible, WINCC, PCS7 and HC Designer

+ Basic knowledge in Primary measuring instruments (Flow Meters, specifically Ultrasonic Flowmeter), Secondary measuring instruments (PT, TT etc.), Flow Computer (FC), Gas Chromatograph (GC), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), SCADA, Flow & Energy Calculation (AGA, ISO standards)

+ Conversant with the technical requirements (UK Gas Network specifications) and the applicable UK codes and standards. Experienced with UK Design approval process G17/PS6. Ability to analyze complex problems and arrive at sound solutions

+ Solution and conceptual oriented thinking. Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment. Strong written and oral communication skills. Language skills: Fluent English
