Assistant Executive Housekeeper
Compliance with hygiene and cleanliness standards is important to guests in any hotel. Hotels that are not cleaned properly are not only aesthetically unappealing, they also present a potential health and safety hazard to guests and employees alike. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for delivering a great guest experience through leadership of the Housekeeping Department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
⦁ Oversee the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department by managing day-to-day staffing requirements, planning and assigning work, establishing performance and development goals for team members.
⦁ Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to resolve conflict and improve performance.
⦁ Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on increased productivity.
⦁ Maintain proper inventory levels managing cost per room for supplies and labor.
⦁ Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
⦁ May assist with deep-cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high-volume periods
⦁ Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, rooms, equipment, linens, public restrooms, lobby, etc. are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction.
⦁ Carry out the special needs and requests of guests, VIPs, repeat visitors and club members.
⦁ Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
⦁ Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives (example: container recycling and cleaning agents)
⦁ Oversee the “Lost and Found” process throughout the hotel
⦁ Maintain a thorough understanding of IHG Brand Standards and Crowne Plaza San Marcos policies & procedures
⦁ Create and sustain a positive work environment - promote a sense of pride and teamwork with the staff
⦁ Maintain crisp, clean, and professional personal appearance and ensure similar standards are adhered to by other members of the Housekeeping department
⦁ Communicate closely with the Front Office and Sales team to build strong working relationships
⦁ Maintain a collegial and helpful environment with colleagues and fellow staff

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Previous housekeeping and management experience are necessary. Proficiency in Opera/Concerto is preferred but not essential. Must be able to communicate clearly.
Basic computer skills to operate property systems
Passion for providing great customer service
Strong communication skills when interacting with guests and employees
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used
Reading/writing abilities and basic math skills needed
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires physical stamina. To fully perform his/her duties, the Housekeeping Manager will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, bend, push, and pull. Must be able to lift and/or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
