Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking candidates for the position of **Test and Operations Manager 3** to support advanced technology development programs. This position is on site in **Linthicum, MD or our Annapolis Junction, MD location** .
Key roles and responsibilities:
+ Manage functional teams of engineers and managers. Support employee development through technical tasking, performance evaluation, career development, and compensation planning.
+ Execute in a direct contributor or leadership role for programs as a software engineer, systems engineer or as a software architect.
+ Optimize and execute test operations activities across the MDA Business area.
+ Team responsibilities include logistics and material management, implementing calibration and repair procedures for test equipment, preventative maintenance, and accountability and optimization of overall lab and test system uptime.
+ Development of tools to improve pipeline efficiency and implement new analysis tools/techniques.
+ Provide advanced project and technical oversight for activities performed by the team.
+ Brief executive management on plans, and progress as required.
+ Create effective performance and technical progress metrics.
+ Communicate with stakeholders, and other teams.
+ Support department staffing initiatives in cooperation with Human Resource (HR) and Talent Acquisition (TA) partners.
**This position requires full-time on-site support at our Linthicum, MD location OR our Annapolis Junction, MD location.**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience; Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience; or PhD with 4 years of professional experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science or Mathematics, Technical Management, or related technical field.
+ Self-directed technical leader with strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader.
+ Exceptional leadership skills to coordinate collaboration across engineering teams.
+ Proven experience in operations management, preferably within a laboratory or research environment.
+ Experience leading and managing teams, with a track record of effective leadership and team development.
+ Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
+ Understanding of safety and compliance standards relevant to laboratory operations
+ This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Advanced degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
+ 5+ years of experience leading a software development team
+ Demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
+ EV/CAM experience, including material management
+ Experience setting up and running an engineering storeroom
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
+ Proficiency in using operations management software and tools.
+ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency.
+ Experience operating and maintaining cryogenic systems
+ Active U.S. Government security clearance.
Salary Range: $178,500.00 - $280,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
