GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Perform sample preparation of laminate materials using a CNC Router. Additional responsibilities include learning chemical, physical, and electrical tests required for Research and New Product Development, Technical Service, Process Engineering and/ or Quality Control.
SCHEDULE: 8:00am -4:30pmMonday -Friday(Overtime,extended shift and some weekend work)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cut laminate materials to the appropriate sample specifications using a CNC routing machine.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC router such as cleaning, replacing drill bits as needed, and any applicable verification checks.
Maintain records of sample specifications and machining parameters.
Check for defects, inconsistencies, or irregularities in prepared samples.
Perform Chemical, Physical and Electrical testing on dielectric materials and printed circuit board substrates.
Complete testing per work instructions and properly complete all paperwork used to track tests in a timely manner as assigned.
Accurately record results for tests performed in the LIMS database.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety policies, health rules, and practices.
Demonstrate capability to work without close supervision.
Work assigned shift and extended hours without much detailed supervision to accomplish sample preparation and testing needed to satisfy internal and external customers.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time, as required.
STRATEGIC FOCUS:
Perform assigned tasks and tests in the Analytical Services Laboratory.
Complete all testing per work instructions and follow all safety rules.
Accurately complete data sheets and charts for tests performed.
Complete testing in a timely manner as determined by the customer.
Ability to work well with chemists and fellow technicians.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
HS Diploma or laboratory experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, and sense of urgency.
Knowledge of laminate processing a plus.
Strong written and oral communications skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
Physical demands required to perform critical tasks in this role include standing for long periods of time, bendy, carrying, and the ability to lift 25lbs.
Must have good manual dexterity for working with small samples.
Must be able to wear/ use dust mask, hearing protection and safety glasses as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to interpret and follow complex, written instructions, required.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
