The Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Data Scientist. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver.
**Position Overview:**
As a Data Scientist within Advanced Programs, your experience with data analysis techniques will assist in the research, development, and growth of complex software applications. You will be working with a fast-paced and exciting research and development environment that utilizes your familiarity modern data science techniques. You are expected to communicate technical information effectively and clearly, and present technical approaches and findings. Our team of motivated technical talent works closely with the end user (and each other) to ensure the direct mission applicability of developed products.
The Advanced Programs organization pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in efficiently solving mission challenges. Our team is chartered with providing innovative technologies to develop, design, and produce optimized product lines across multiple customers while providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter. Advanced Programs is looking for new members to join our rapidly growing technical team as a **Data Scientist** based out of **Boulder, CO** .
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Software development using Agile Methodology.
+ Tool and prototype development using Python.
+ Work in cross-discipline teams and communicate clearly across various levels of engineers.
+ Technical documentation as required.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ **Level 2** : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline and 2 years of related experience; 0 years of related experience with a Masters.
+ **Level 3** : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years of related experience with a Masters or 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
+ **Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility** .
+ Familiarity with **data visualization techniques** and **python packages** (i.e. pandas, matplotlib, plotly, dash, etc…)
+ Experience developing in Linux environments.
+ Experience with building custom data analysis and visualization tools.
+ Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
+ Experience in basic statistical analysis techniques (i.e. Bayesian statistics, Statistical Inference, Bootstrapping, Regression, etc..)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Active TS/SCI clearance
+ Familiarity with revision control, documentation, planning, and review systems like Git.
+ Experience with C++ and/or MATLAB
+ Experience with containers (Kubernetes and/or Docker)
+ Experience working with customers within the Intelligence Community.
+ Familiarity working with Atlassian ecosystem tools.
+ Experience working with data manipulation, processing and visualization packages. Some knowledge of data analysis, mining and experimentation (i.e. statistical analysis, A/B testing)
+ Experience developing and testing across multiple development environments

**Salary Range:** $98,400 - $147,600
**Salary Range 2:** $121,400 - $182,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
