We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior IT Architect specializing in Search Technologies to lead the design, development, and optimization of our enterprise search platforms. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of search experience for our users by working on scalable, high-performance solutions that leverage advanced technologies such as NLP, AI, and Machine Learning.
As a Senior IT Architect, you will collaborate with business teams, software developers, and operations teams to build next-generation search capabilities, focusing on performance, data quality, intelligent tagging, personalization, and user experience (UX) enhancements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise search architecture, with a track record of successful implementations.
In this role, you will report directly to our Sr Director IT and work out of our Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or Phoenix, AZ locations on a hybrid work schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Architect and Design Search Solutions:
+ Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance search solutions using technologies such as ElasticSearch, Apache Solr, Coveo and related platforms.
+ Develop strategies for search optimization, indexing, and relevance tuning to improve UX and business outcomes.
+ Introduce intelligent tagging, personalization, and other advanced AI-driven search functionalities.
+ Hands-On Development:
+ Participate in the hands-on coding, configuration, and integration of search technologies.
+ Ensure search systems are highly available, scalable, and performant.
+ Drive continuous improvement in search algorithms, including relevance tuning and NLP implementations.
+ Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
+ Work closely with business analysts, product teams, and stakeholders to understand search requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
+ Collaborate with UX designers to ensure that search interfaces provide an intuitive and seamless experience for end-users.
+ Partner with data teams to ensure data quality and structure meet search requirements, including tagging and classification.
+ Search Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
+ Implement monitoring and performance tuning of search platforms to meet or exceed SLAs.
+ Lead efforts to improve search ranking and relevance, using A/B testing and analytics.
+ Ensure security, compliance, and data privacy standards are met.
+ Leadership and Mentorship:
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and developers in search-related projects.
+ Influence best practices in search technology and ensure alignment with overall enterprise architecture goals.
+ Research and Innovation:
+ Stay updated with emerging trends in search technology, machine learning, and natural language processing.
+ Lead the evaluation and implementation of new tools and technologies to continuously evolve the search platform.

YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
+ 4+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a specialization in search technologies.
+ Strong hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, Coveo, or other search platforms.
+ Proven experience with natural language processing (NLP), AI/ML for search optimization.
+ Familiarity with front-end search interfaces and UX design principles.
+ Proficient in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Scala.
+ Experience with search engine relevance tuning, performance optimization, and analytics tools.
+ Strong understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying search services in the cloud.
+ Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of working across teams and managing stakeholders.
WE VALUE
+ Experience in eCommerce or enterprise search applications.
+ Familiarity with Gen AI technologies for intelligent tagging and content recommendation.
+ Experience in integrating search solutions with enterprise platforms like SAP Commerce Cloud, Informatica PIM, or other CMS/ERP systems
