As a **Retail Assoicate** at **Banner University Medical Center,** your role is crucial in creating a welcoming first impression for our patients and visitors in our gift shop. Your primary responsibilities will include welcoming guests, monitoring inventory and sales, stocking merchandise etc.
**Location** : Banner University Medical Center - 1111 E McDowell Rd Phoenix, AZ 85006
**Hours/Schedule:** 32 hours a week - 8 Hour Shifts Mon-Fri between 8:30AM-6:30PM. Weekends are required on a rotational basis usually every 4 weeks. **Hours vary based on store hours and promotional events**

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of retail operations. Responsible for coordination of day to day operations in order to assist in the achievement of a profitable program. . This position is also responsible for the processing of merchandise, such as ordering, data entry, unpacking, pricing, and displaying.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Monitors sales records and researches pricing policies to ensure the retail stores remain competitive. Provides customer service through the operation of a point of sale register system, taking phone orders and conducting sales within a retail setting.
2. Assists with stocking merchandise and displaying of merchandise in an effective manner. Assists with opening and closing duties of the retail shop.
3. Assists in the planning and development in courses of action to achieve the department/service goals and coordinates operating functions. Works closely with volunteers, vendors, customers, employees, visitors and patients and develops/maintains good rapport with same.
4. Leads volunteers to perform the work required to achieve identified goals of the department service. Advises on recruiting for volunteer staff and coordinates volunteers assigned to shop.
5. Coordinates and performs activities to meet department/service goals. Coordinates and participates in processes to validate achievement of goals to meet/exceed customer expectations. Implements methods for feedback from customers. Provides other training as needed.
6. May deliver flowers or gifts to patient areas.
7. This position assists in the coordination of the daily operations of the thrift shop. Provides supplies and services to all company facilities in the region. Customers are internal company materials management facility departments.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Two years of related experience. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, staff, and community members. Must have knowledge of and ability to operate business machines. Ability to communicate sufficiently to perform duties in a manner consistent with departmental scope of services and standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional retail and/or customer service experience is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
