You will be the key HSE resource at a site directing sustainable health and safety programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes and keeping in front of leading practices in health and safety standards.
+ Develop, integrate, monitor, and support site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with the applicable guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
+ Incorporate continuous improvement in the deployment of the HSE Management System.
+ Ensure proactive integration of HSE in business processes and promote employee engagement and participation in the HSE management system.
Key Responsibilities
+ Maintains regulatory and company standards compliance with site air and water permits and regulations, underground storage tank regulations, Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) plan, RCRA hazardous waste regulations, and EPCRA Hazardous Material Reporting, among others.
+ Acts as the professional resource for site safety, responsible for the deployment of key safety programs including, but not limited to electrical safety, chemical safety, personal protective equipment, machine guarding and respiratory protection.
+ Implements processes to monitor, track, and ensure compliance with governmental regulations and the HSE requirements of the Corporation.
+ Evaluate, develop and effectively implement new HSE work processes or procedures.
+ Serves as liaison with regulatory agencies.
+ Oversees the activities of third party consultants.
+ Serves as the lead for all data collection and review for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), parametric monitoring, and equipment fuel usage.
+ Provides timely and accurate submission of necessary reports to Corporate, Federal, State, and Local agencies.
+ Keeps informed of existing and proposed HSE regulations and interprets regulations for business partners.
+ Conducts audits and inspections and identifies actions necessary to prevent injuries and control significant exposures.
+ Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses.
+ Leads efforts to improve safety and environmental performance using the company HSE Management System and company tools including the Management System Tool (Intelex), the Digital Risk Assessment Tool, among others.
+ Coordinates site specific HSE training for employees.
+ Oversees the program for subcontractor safety management.
+ Engages with broader regional HSE team to share ownership of the regional HSE management system.
+ Serves as Americas Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned programs.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ Minimum of five (5) years experience in HSE, which includes managing elements of a site safety program and maintaining environmental permit compliance.
+ Self-motivated with strong initiative and bias for action.
+ Uncompromising drive for compliance and willingness to escalate issues as needed.
+ Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills and have the ability to interface with and influence all levels of plant personnel.
+ Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook in a business environment.
WE VALUE
+ Bachelors degree in environmental sciences, engineering, safety, chemistry or an applied science field, or demonstrated equivalent
+ Experience with Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) a plus.
+ Will be highly motivated and energetic with good analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Ability to lead, work independently, motivate, and influence others at all levels of the organization
+ Close attention to detail
+ Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once
