Summary You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER (FORKLIFT OPERATOR) in the Installation and Logistics Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA. Initial consideration for this announcement is limited to the number of applications listed at the top of this announcement (50). Responsibilities You will perform a broad range of standard receiving assignments at multiple storage facilities, receive shipments, and sign receiving documents. You will perform or directs the unloading of trucks using common hand tools and materials handling equipment, identify items damaged in shipment and alerts the appropriate authority of serious discrepancies. You will operate various forklifts capable of lifting as much as 15,000 lbs. to move, load, unload, transfer and transport and stack or unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, merchandise, materials and supplies from one location to another. You will verify signature match with authorized signature cards or listings maintains customer accounts records utilizing automated systems to fill orders, verify inventory levels, place stock. You will expedite the movement of priority items and follows up on overdue material, keeping production controller and work area supervisors informed of material status Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
