**BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled** **Veterinary Ultrasonographer** **to join our team at our Avondale, AZ location.**

The Veterinary Ultrasonographer operates sonographic equipment to produce images for interpretation and maintains the integrity and quality of the Radiology Department. Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasonographer performs exams at a technical level that does not require direct supervision. Conducts a wide variety of Ultrasound. Assists with interventional procedures. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and acquired knowledge to obtain quality diagnostic images.

**Pay:** ***Dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool**

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

+ Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential

+ Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential

+ Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

**As an Ultrasonographer Technician:**

+ You will perform ultrasounds (image capture).

+ You will perform cystocentesis and collect fine needle aspirates for cytology.

+ You will safely restrain patients for procedures.

+ You will place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.

+ You will perform phlebotomy.

+ You will proficiently perform digital radiographs.

+ You will administer and monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.

+ You will perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.

+ You have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

+ You have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**

+ A.S. Degree required. B.S is preferred

+ Veterinary Ultrasound certificate program or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography preferred (RVMS) or Certificate program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

+ Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation/or, accredited radiology program or equivalent. Certification by American Registry of Radiological Technologists or equivalent
