**Responsibilities**

Performs HIM functions including birth registration customer service/reception chart deficiency analysis chart preparation chart scanning/indexing and legal release of information. Serves as technical expert on HIM systems and provides support to the HIM Systems Coordinator.

**Qualifications**

Minimum

+ One year of medical office experience

+ One year of experience working with medical records

+ High School Diploma

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service

+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

+ Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows

+ Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook Word Excel).

Preferred

+ One year of experience working with medical records in an acute care Health Information Management environment

+ Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Cerner strongly preferred

+ Completion of a HIM equivalent study course

**Pay Range**

$18.00 - $20.38 /hour
