A Maintenance Electrician Technician will perform electrical and related work involved in the maintenance of industrial and plant facilities, installation, repair and modification of electrical, electronic systems, controls and equipment. Excluding electronic test equipment.

**What you will do:**
+ Works on high voltage switch gear and associated equipment. Works from schematics, blueprints, diagrams, sketches and verbal information. Installs, tests, maintains and repairs all industrial, facilities electrical and electronic equipment, systems, mechanisms, assemblies, and control in accordance with appropriate regulations.
+ Diagnosis failure and/or malfunction using precision measuring instruments. Duties include, but are not limited to, resistance welding equipment and machines, numerically controlled equipment and various machine tools. Computer controlled equipment and systems also to include: robotics, automated retrieval systems and associated equipment, such as PC's, CRT's and keyboards or other controlling equipment. Also to include, P. A. systems, time clocks, central recorders, fire alarm systems, autocall, paperless system, shop floor control system and associated equipment.
+ Performs preventative maintenance (P.M.'s), as required.
+ While performing functions associated with this classification, may perform incidental duties normally performed by other trades.
+ Understands and performs all job duties in accordance with the appropriate operating procedures/instructions relative to all environmental/safety requirements and regulations governing the work area within an individual's classification.
+ Identifies and tags discrepant parts and materials, determines cause and makes minor adjustments to equipment and/or takes appropriate corrective action.
+ May perform routine maintenance tasks such as, but not limited to, replace light bulbs, remove trash, clean or replace filters, routine inspection and cleaning, check/maintain fluid levels.

+ Minimum of 5 years of Journeyman level experience and/or completed an approved apprenticeship program.
+ Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a fulltime Electrician. The Electrician is responsible for the installation and repair of electrical systems and components in existing GCU owned buildings.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, and Sunday, 11:00am-7:00pm
What you will do:
+ Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
+ Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.
+ Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
+ Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switches gears.
+ Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
+ Able to identify issues and take corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components.
+ Obtains price quotations on materials needed; submits purchasing orders for approval.
+ Effectively handles electrical installation/repair work orders and completes on schedule.
+ Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
+ Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
+ Utilizes work order system to record detailed handling of scheduled assignment including hours needed to complete assignment.
+ Part of a rotating list of on-call personnel.
+ Other duties as assigned.
What you need:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrician, minimum experience in working with commercial electrical systems at least 2 years.
+ Hold licensure/certification as a journeyman electrician preferred.
+ Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
+ Must be available to work on call shifts as assigned.
+ Must successfully pass a background check.
+ Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role which require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and carrying of electrical components and other materials required for repair or installation.

Skilled worker in the electrical/instrumentation field whose duties include, but are not limited to the removal, repair and installation of electrical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.
+ Perform safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Completion of an approved certified electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program or minimum of two (2) years of experience or a combination of education and experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance
+ Basic experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
+ Valid state drivers license

**Responsibilities:**
+ Measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
+ Performing duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
+ Following state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code
+ Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment including wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and other electrical components.
+ Bend and install various types of conduit, including EMT, Rigid, and PVC.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and recommend solutions.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical diagrams.
+ Install electrical systems according to industry standards and regulations.
+ Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure they are following safety regulations and standards.
+ Coordinate with other trades and contractors on construction sites to ensure timely completion of projects
+ Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed.
**Qualifications:**
+ Must have at least 5 Years Commercial Electrical experience
+ Must have tools of the trade
+ Must have verifiable work experience
