<p><em><strong>Salary:&nbsp;</strong>The salary range for this position is between $63,000 - $69,000 + overnight shift premium of &nbsp;$7,600&nbsp;however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.</em></p>

<p><strong>What You'll Need</strong></p>

<li>Bachelor’s or associate degree in management, administration, supply chain, customer service, or 5+ years working experience in product distribution to customer base.</li>

<li>Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehouse activities (MSDS, Equipment checklist, BOL).</li>

<li>Working understanding of Warehouse Management System.</li>

<li>Should have excellent leadership and administration skills and abilities.</li>

<li>Strong motivational, effectual team building, and decision-making skills.</li>

<li>Ability to effectively manage time and resolve crises.</li>

The Sr. Manager, Transportation will ensure a Transportation department culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with Transportation leaders and associates, best in-class service to customers, and safe and profitable operations. They will use their expertise in transportation operations to ensure safe, accurate and timely daily outbound shipments to customers and other distribution centers within the organization, and to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

• Achieve all safety, service, and cost targets in the Transportation department. Lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate, our customers, and the general public with whom our drivers interact remain injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the Transportation department.

• Oversee and develop Transportation Managers through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example.

• Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation personnel by discussing performance with Transportation Managers and creating plans to address gaps. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.

• Build high-performing teams by reviewing staffing requirements and monitoring interviewing and hiring of Transportation personnel. Review performance, coach to achieve service and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.

• Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Anticipate, analyze and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions; direct managers on implementation. Interpret and ensure compliance with company, state, and federal DOT regulations.

• Ensure optimum delivery reliability to the customer by developing efficient and effective production flow processes and identifying process improvement and cost reduction strategies that are in line with business objectives.

• Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.

• Analyze daily performance measures; identify any weaknesses; and recommend changes to the VP Operations to ensure that productivity objectives are achieved.

• In union facilities, assist HR and the VP Operations in interpreting the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, administering appropriate discipline, settling routine grievances and participating in arbitrations as required.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

Related Experience/Requirements:

• Minimum of five years of experience in transportation/delivery supervision required.

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**

• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.

The Manager, Warehouse - SSA will ensure a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with warehouse associates, best in-class service to customers, and safe and profitable operations. They will use their experience in warehouse operations to manage personnel and drive efficient warehouse operations through the associates they lead, ensuring the safe, accurate and timely receiving and storage of inbound product or selection and loading of outbound product.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

• Lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate remains injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse.

• Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create plans to address gaps.

• Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow.

• Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.

• Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers. Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.

• Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks. Oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift.

• Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods. Take action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors.

• On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers. Ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures. Monitor replenishment activity to ensure stock is available for the shipping shift and to minimize the potential for “shorts”. Oversee will call.

• Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.

• Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control.

• Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.

• Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.

• Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)

• Other duties assigned by manager.

This position supervises all operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with inventory, supply procurement, shipping, and receiving. Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive academic medical center that includes an Emergency department, a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. We are an Arizona Department of Health Services-accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and a Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders-designated senior-friendly hospital. The hospital is staffed by physicians who are full-time faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and is managed by Banner Health under an operating agreement with Pima County. Our specialty services include inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, treatment and education for diabetes, innovative geriatrics care and comprehensive orthopedics.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supervises all operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with inventory, supply procurement, shipping, and receiving. Manages the timely and accurate distribution of shipments throughout the facility/campus, and to outside entities. Ensures that procurement and materials handling processes are conducted in accordance with company policies. Supervises the procurement of special orders for other departments, maintains inventory and inputs information into the MMIS System.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Manages operations of ordering, shipping, and receiving functions by assessing daily workload and issuing directives and assignments to staff ensuring proper handling and timely delivery of all supplies ordered, received, and delivered throughout the facility and campus buildings.

2. Achieves departmental goals via the efforts of a competent and motivated staff through appropriate selection, scheduling, training, use of corrective action, communicating, providing feedback, and termination of subordinate personnel.

3. Manages resource and expense use within budgetary guidelines. Provides accurate and timely information for departmental budgets.

4. Regularly responds to requests and needs for materials and supply services from staff and departments throughout the facilitie(s). Provides customer service to managers, supervisors, physicians, nurses, other staff members, patients and/or visitors regarding information on ordering, shipping, and receiving issues and related needs. Drives company vehicles to deliver and pick up items as required.

5. Develops and continually updates work processes to meet changing and growing facility needs for supply chain services. Makes recommendations, devises, implements, and enforces department policies and procedures in conjunction with other members of the leadership team. Works as a member of the system/region materials leadership team to develop and standardize efficient and effective practices. May be responsible for ensuring that staff is fully trained and certified in forklift equipment operation as well as fully educated and held accountable for all safety procedures.

6. Maintains, updates, researches, and tracks shipping/receiving records for departments, Systems Materials Management, and Accounts Payable. Maintains department records relating to personnel matters, in-service education, accounts payable, supplies received, equipment maintenance, and other related areas.

7. Departmental/facility responsibility. Incumbent assists all departments with ordering, shipping and, receiving functions. Works under limited supervision using independent judgment to achieve goals. Internal customers are other staff, nurses, physicians, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers and executives. External customers are patients, visitors, vendors, other company facilities, and non-company medical facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Must posses a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

The Warehouse Supervisor guides and controls warehouse activities to ensure accurate storing and distributing of raw materials and finished goods.
